# Alerting

With a monitoring platform connected, the diagram shows current alert state
against the resources it belongs to.

## On the diagram

Shapes bound to a monitored resource reflect its current state. You see
*where* in the system the problem is, with everything around it visible at the
same time.

## Coverage suggestions

Continuum can compare what exists in your estate against what is monitored,
and list the gaps: resources that are running and alerting on nothing.

## Not a monitoring system
