# Continuum Link

> Live data from monitoring, on-call and ITSM platforms, shown on a stratum.

Continuum Link brings live data from another platform into a stratum. Alert
state from your monitoring system, the on-call rota and the change record
appear beside the thing they refer to on the diagram.

Requires an Enterprise licence and `integration.manage`.

## It does not draw

> Link never writes to a canvas. Data from a linked integration appears on a
> stratum and nowhere else. Diagrams generated from your infrastructure come

## Connecting

Add an integration in the organisation's integrations settings and authenticate
against the platform. Credentials are stored encrypted and are never included
in anything sent to a reader.

## Binding to a stratum

On a stratum, add a Continuum Link binding and choose the object in the
connected platform it corresponds to. The stratum then shows that object's
current state whenever someone opens it.

## Access

Data is fetched with the connection's credentials, not the reader's. Anyone who
can read the stratum sees it, so bind objects whose state is appropriate for
that audience. On a public blueprint that audience is the public.
